COMPANY VISIT – DACC visited the APM Terminals in Los Angeles for an exclusive firsthand look of the largest proprietary container terminal in the world
 
The Pier 400 facility has demonstrated the capability of handling 2.3 million TEU annually. With a total acreage of 484 acres, it can accommodate 8,000 wheeled and 17,000 grounded containers.
 
The centerpiece of the terminal is a 40 acre on-dock rail facility with over 5 miles of working track, which can accommodate 4 double stack trains. Pier 400 currently has 14 super post-Panamax cranes which can accommodate 6 vessels simultaneously.
